Another bright star extinguished far too early..

It has just come to my attention that sadly Bap Kennedy has passed away,
He was just 54 years of age.

A precocious talent, and a Singer Songwriter who's lyrics were sublime poetry blended with music.

I will admit that I only heard of Bap after I found his cover version of Van Morrison's "Madame George" online.

But that evening, I spent hours devouring vidoes of Bap in performance on Youtube,
I then managed to track down n album in Tower records, and fell in love with it in an instant.

To my mind, Bap falls into the category of one who really should have made the 'big time', but for some unfathomable reason did not.
I would include Bagatelle and Aslan in that category too.

Bap had so much more to give, and it is very sad that his flame has been extinguished far, far too early.

R.I.P to a Belfast Balladeer, who really WAS up their with 'the best' in my book.
